Things to Remember on a Night out in Cape Town was created for “ENOUGH KWANELE GENOEG” a group exhibition organised by the SpindlyTwins in collaboration with the City of Cape Town’s Emerging Artist Program at SA Sendinggestig Museum in 2019.

In the wake of the countries protest against Gender Based Violence, Things to Remember on a Night out in Cape Town sheds light on the measures womxn take to survive in a society that prioritizes patriarchal systems over the lives of womxn.

Things to Remember on a Night out in Cape Town highlights the fear felt by womxn on a daily basis. We are constantly told what to do to prevent sexual assault – the artworks are a visual representation of the things womxn do every day to protect themselves in Cape Town.
